Rules Changes

The following rules changes have been adopted by the Grand Ledge Youth Baseball Board of Directors and will be effective for the 2018 season.

1.       Grand Ledge Youth Baseball will begin using the new Age Cut Off date of August 31 at the 9U level in 2018.  This is the same new Age Cut Off date that has been adopted by national PONY Baseball and Little League.  GL Youth Baseball has decided to grandfather the 10U through 14U levels in 2018, utilizing the May 1 Age Cut Off date used previously by these age groups.

2.       Grand Ledge Youth Baseball has adopted the new USA Bat standards recently adopted by national PONY Baseball for its 2018 GL Spring Season (9U through 12U).  Our 2018 Tournament Travel Teams (9U through 14U) will be bound to the bat rules for the weekday League and weekend Tournaments that their teams play in.

3.       Grand Ledge Youth Baseball has adopted the same pitch count rules recently adopted by national PONY Baseball for its 2018 GL Spring Season (9U through 12U).  These new pitch count rules replace the previously used innings pitched limits.  These new pitch count rules will be shared with all GL Tournament Travel Team coaches as a strongly suggested guideline; however, they will not be required to specifically follow these rules in Tournament play, but rather they can adhere to the rules specified within each tournament.
